I did a google-image search for "Twilight exercise" and this is what came up. Pretty, but not what I had in mind. Oh and it looks like this person is naked except for sneakers AND they have a chunk missing from their ass. What's up with that???
So for probably the last six months, I have been tinkering with a post about how I would like to get into shape... At this point, Jenny Jerkface are in our post-holiday/post-pig-out rut and nothing we own fits us and frankly we are getting kind of whiny about it. We've had a few meltdown omg-I-can't-find-anything-to-wear-I'm-NOT-going-out-tonight moments lately and we refuse to go buy new nice fat clothes because we are saving our money for Forks.
Anyway, I was going going through the anniversary post emails and came across one in particular that really struck a chord with me - I wanted to share it with all of you guys because if made me feel all warm & fuzzy and I love shit like this and it helps to motivate me to keep up all the blogging stuff even when work and RL is sucking the life out of me like I'm Bella in the ballet studio with James...
[thanks, bwen, for sharing!!! we LOOOOOOVED this story!!!]
OK Here it goes.
This story was 9 months in the making and no I'm not pregnant. About 9 months ago I was fat, unhappy and my husband and I only slept in the same bed because we were married but nothing else happened there. I was looking for something magical to happen in my life, and then Twilight came along, yes I was a late bloomer, I got all the books for Christmas of 2008 and I fell in love with Edward Cullen, sad but true! I immediately bought the movie when it came out on DVD and fell in lust with Rob Pattinson.
To my great surprise I found my husband reading the Twilight books and though I watched the movie on an average of 5 times a week he would often volunteer to watch it with me on his weekend off, another big surprise.
Then spring came along and I caught him looking at photos of when we were first married, yes I had long brown hair, fair skin, chocolate brown eyes and I was thin once upon a time.
Well something clicked in my brain, he was looking for his Bella and I wanted my Edward, so I started dieting and exercising, and he started thinking more about how to be romantic, to date I have lost 80 lbs and gone from a size 26 to a size 14 and I'm still going down, and I have never felt better. 4 months into this my husband and I went away for a long weekend on our anniversary and rediscovered our sex life that been dormant for 5 years ( and I mean dead dormant).
Today my husband and I are more in love than ever before, and the sex is phenomenal and so much better than ever before. We are even happier now that we get to embarrass our kids almost daily because of my husbands and my PDAs. Life is great and Twilight was better than any marriage counselor, sex therapist, weight loss program, personal trainer or drugs, Twilight helped me rediscover what its like to be in love, and that having a great a physical relationship is about more than just sex.
There are people all over the Twidom who have used Twilight or blogging or fanfic or the the fandom in some way to help motivate them to get in shape... There is even a discussion going on at our Facebook page! I am not linking to anything right now because I really want to do this right and collect my thoughts and your input before coming up with a game plan. Do you only read fanfic on the treadmill? Want to get into shape pre-Forks? What??? This is something that I feel strongly about and I think we could really help each other here, so I would love to get your input on the general topic of getting into shape and how Twilight and the community we've established here at Twitarded may be able to help - so spill it! I want comments, please!
Don't forget, ladies: proper support is critical when jogging. Or not.
Oh and I don't think Kellan was stuffing when he did that Calvin Klein shoot.
